Manuscripts should be typed and double-spaced. Please send a brief synopsis; an outline or table of contents; two or three sample chapters, including any introduction or preface and the first two chapters; a market assessment (a list of competing books and how your book is different); and a detailed statement of author credentials and biographical information. Please do not send original artwork, as we cannot be responsible for it. Instead, we recommend you send only copies of artwork, when appropriate. We are no longer accepting unsolicited children's book manuscripts. Also, we do not accept unsolicited audio projects.
We prefer email submissions. Please include your cover letter in the body of the email and your proposal materials as file attachments. Attachments must be in Word or PDF format. The email address for submissions is:

Please note that due to the high volume of email submissions we receive, we cannot confirm that your submission has been received. We are aware that this may cause distress, and we are working to address the problem. Please allow two months before contacting us to check on the status of your submission. If we discover that your email was not received, you may resend it and we will be happy to give your submission top priority. Thank you for your patience.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you send your submission by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) if you wish to hear from us, and especially if you want your manuscript returned. Due to the number of proposals and manuscripts we receive, we can respond only if an SASE is enclosed. Be sure the envelope is large enough to contain the manuscript and includes sufficient postage
Postage information for submissions sent from outside the United States: If you would like your materials returned, please include a postal coupon (for letter-sized envelopes) or a check or money order drawn from a U.S. bank. We cannot use non-U.S. currency, non-U.S. postal money orders, or checks or money orders drawn from non-U.S. banks. Alternatively, if you do not need your materials returned, please include your email address, and we will respond via email.
Please allow us up to twelve weeks to respond.
