WHY I LOVE DONALD TRUMP (EVEN THOUGH I DON’T LIKE HIM) by guest blogger SCOTT STABILE, author of BIG LOVE
By Publicity Admin

I love Donald Trump, but I don’t like him.

I think he’s racist, greedy, narcissistic, devoid of empathy and compassion, and the unapologetic perpetrator of sexual assault on numerous women. I find him to be a profoundly dangerous and despicable human being. But I do love him.

I love him when I remember his humanity, when I remember he was once an innocent, curious, loving child like all of us. I love him when I imagine how miserable he must be to act with such insecurity and hatred, and when I consider how unloved he must feel to show such lack of love for others. I love him when I remind myself that I am dedicated to love, and that real love has no conditions, not even with Donald Trump. Not with anyone.

IT’S A NEW WORLD NOW: 7 Empowering Podcasts for Trying Times by New World Library Social Media Manager Kim Corbin
By Publicity Admin

On one hand, as fast as time seems to be moving these days, it’s hard to believe that the New World Now podcast recently celebrated its first anniversary. On the other hand, when I think about the political mayhem, the tragic natural disasters, and the senseless acts of terrorism that have occurred in the same time period, the past year feels like it has lasted a lifetime.

The first episode of New World Now aired one month and one day before the presidential election. Little did I realize the extent to which our cultural stakes were about to change, and just how imperative my intention for the podcast — to bring forward practical tools we can all use to be more mindful and present in our daily lives — was about to become.

NEITHER WOLF NOR DOG HITS THE BIG SCREEN by New World Library Associate Publicist Tristy Taylor with an excerpt from the book by Kent Nerburn
By Publicity Admin

Twenty-three years after its original publication, the popular New World Library book Neither Wolf nor Dog: On Forgotten Roads with an Indian Elder, by acclaimed author Kent Nerburn, has been adapted into a feature film. Thanks to the Museum of the American Indian and the Marin Community Foundation, a screening of this Steven Lewis Simpson–directed film recently took place in San Rafael, California.

Nerburn also cowrote the screenplay (with Simpson), and the main character, played by the talented actor Christopher Sweeney, is based on him. After seeing the final cut, Nerburn said, “The film, in both its choices that reflect the book and its choices that go outside the book, is always and uncompromisingly respectful and accurate in its depiction of Native people and life. To my mind, there is not one false note in the portrayal of Native reality.”
