Karlene Stange, DVM, knew she wanted to be an animal doctor before she knew the word “veterinarian.” As a child, she caught frogs in the swamp, snakes in the garden, and fire flies that flashed over the marsh. Cats and dogs were my companions and she road a Shetland pony named Earl throughout the countryside. She became a veterinarian, working in Colorado with large and small animals. She incorporates acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and herbal and nutrition therapy into her thriving practice in the Rocky Mountains. Dr. Stange speaks regularly at conferences on natural medicine for animals and lives in Durango, CO.
