Richard Dixey

Dr. Richard Dixey is a scientist and lifelong student of Asian philosophy. Holding a PhD in biophysics and an MA in the history and philosophy of science, he directed the Bioelectronic Research Unit at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London before becoming CEO of his own biotechnology company, Phytopharm Plc. In 2007 he moved to California to devote himself to deepening his own practice and running the Light of Buddhadharma Foundation in India with his wife Wangmo, the eldest daughter of the well-known Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku. A senior faculty member at Dharma College in Berkeley, a school dedicated to re-envisioning Asian wisdom traditions for a contemporary audience, he divides his time between California and India.
