Leonidas Konstantakos, PhD, is a scholar, educator, and U.S. Army veteran whose work explores Stoicism, ethics, political philosophy, international relations, and the moral dimensions of war. He teaches philosophy and related subjects at Florida International University and Miami Dade College, and teaches history, philosophy, and debate at the Archimedean Schools in Miami. His scholarly work examines the continuing relevance of ancient philosophy to contemporary questions of leadership, conflict, education, and public life. He is the author of Stoicism and Just War Theory and co-author of Being Better: Stoicism for a World Worth Living In. Drawing upon his academic research, classroom experience, and two military deployments to Iraq, he writes about how philosophical ideas can help people confront the ethical challenges of modern life.
